Session 2 *July 13
Jacob
During this session the children will learn to
-
Find the stories of Jacob in Genesis, in the Old
Testament.
-
Identify Isaac, Rebekah, Esau, Jacob, Laban, Rachel,
Leah and place them correctly in the story: Discover God’s plan at work in the lives of these
characters, despite their imperfections.

Understand that a loving, forgiving God is at work in
their lives.
-
Realize that we need patience, persistence, and
courage to wait for God’s timing.
-
Discover that the stories are timeless and continue to
speak to us today.
They will
experience the story by making marble rocks, learning
through the Lion King, cooking and eating lentil stew,
stepping into Jacob and Esau’s shoes, playing Jacob and Esau
baseball, and experimenting with a come back can.
Children will meet in a
different center each week. The schedule will be posted in
the courtyard and the doors will be decorated for each
center.
